Woodheys Park : 25th October is a date for your diary with the Saw Mill and Bodgers fun day out. Ever wanted to learn how to turn trees into furniture or wondered what a Pole Lathe is. Well wonder no more as some of our ancient woodland trades are exhibited down at Woodhey’s park in Sale.
We will have a Bodger on site to demonstrate the ancient arts of the Pole Lathe and the shave horse. The Trafford & District woodcraft club will also be on hand showing off some lathe work of their own and another interested group will be showing us all how they turn trees into furniture.
This year we have already planted 420 new trees in Woodheys park with another 420 due to arrive in November allowing us to re-model our woodland space with natural UK species. Encouraging wildlife within a managed woodland setting whilst encouraging all to come and make the most of our woodland retreat. The woodland school on the 25th October will be on from 10:30 until about 3:30pm and for more information please contact the friend’s group.
